Also, I'm a mom. So in the spirit of sharing my loves with my daughter, I present to you "The Girl and the Bicycle" by Mark Pett.
For those of you who know my husband, it will be no surprise that this book practically jumped off the shelf at us during our weekly library visit. We all quickly fell in love with this book. This is an early literacy book, ie. no words, just pictures. "Read" it. I hope you love it as much as we did.
I think the early literacy books can be AMAZING! Especially when handled well. I haven't seen this one yet, but I keep an imaginary list of books I want to share with my future children. This can be one of them!
ReplyDeleteDarcy,
ReplyDeleteThis one is such a cute story. The girl, while on a walk with her brother, sees a beautiful green bike in the store window. She begins doing all sorts of chores to save up money for the bike. Unfortunately when she goes back to the store to purchase it, it is gone! She is disappointed, but sees her brother eyeing a tricycle and buys it for him. On their way home they stop at Grandma's. Turns out, Grandma bought the bike for little girl. The two adventurers take off and live happily ever after. At least, that is how we read it.
I don't have time to do full posts, but a few more kid books we love right now:
